The blocker has always been the same thing: manual data entry that compounds with every account, every custodian, every client.
I had a call earlier this week with one of our customers who is in the middle of a firm merger. Three custodians, a CRM, Egnyte, Docusign. She walked me through her current onboarding workflow step by step.
At one point she said something that stuck with me:
“That’s where most of my time is spent — populating data into Pershing. Especially if a client has 15 accounts, that’s a lot of repetitiveness. You risk spelling errors, you risk all that, and time wasted when we could be utilizing it so much more.”
That’s not a niche operations problem. That’s the job description for a huge portion of wealth management ops right now.
By the end of the call we had mapped four specific workflow steps where AI agents could eliminate that repetitiveness. She closed with “we’re gonna make moves.”
That’s the energy I love seeing from ops teams when they actually see what’s possible.
This is fun.
